What does the self-paced homeschooling Program include?

The self-paced homeschooling Program includes an online course, support, and guidance from professional teachers via email only. If a student has an IEP, we will provide all accommodations. Students can complete the course within 10 months.

What happens if a specific curriculum or course does not meet the student's needs?

If a specific curriculum or course does not meet the student's needs, we offer alternative learning paths or personalized support to ensure academic success.

Does the student take standardized state tests (FSA, EOC, etc.)?

Students only take State approved EXACT-PATH diagnostics assessments in Math, ELA, and Reading every quarter. Exact Path measures student learning gains through personalized, data-driven progress tracking.

Can the Students participate in State Scholarship funding for self-paced learning?

Yes, we accept most scholarships. Call for more details.

Can homeschool students dual enroll in colleges?

Yes, homeschool students can dual enroll in colleges if they meet the eligibility requirements set by the institution.

How do a student transition from homeschool back to public/private school?

Students can transition from homeschool back to public or private school by providing academic records, completing placement assessments if required, and meeting the school’s enrollment criteria.

What do Asynchronous sessions mean? What is self-paced learning?

Self-paced learning requires students to be independent learners. There are no teacher-led live sessions. Students may communicate with the teacher for any concerns. The academy offers one on one tutoring to assist the student for a fee.

What is Academic Integrity and how do you maintain it at PKVA?

An important feature of maintaining the Honor Code at PK-12 Virtual Academy is the academic integrity we expect from the students. All students are expected to research, read, and submit authentic work, not plagiarized. Copying someone else’s work, homework, quizzes, tests, and other graded work or giving someone else your own work to copy can result in a failing grade. All students must sign the “Acknowledgement” page during the registration in which the students agree to abide by the policies and procedures of PK-12 Virtual Academy.

What is the Self Paced Refund Policy?

You must complete and pass each course in the program with 65% or higher within 10 months of your start date.
If YOU DO NOT pass a course you will Not get the credit for the course.
You have the option to Pay, Complete, and Pass a Credit Recovery Course

At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to give it a try, but I’m so glad I did! It’s a fantastic place—the owner and her assistant are incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, especially when it comes to helping my son keep up with his classroom work. I love that sessions are by appointment, offering one-on-one teaching while parents can wait nearby if they choose.
